Evoque Designer Victoria Beckham
Victoria Beckham has become embroiled in a row regarding her involvement in designing a special edition of the Range Rover Evoque.
The car, build in 2012, was named after the iconic former Spice Girls singer, who is one half of arguably the most famous celebrity couple on the planet, alongside her husband David.
Now, though, design director at Land Rover, Gerry McGovern, has slammed the singer - for overplaying her involvement in designing the VB edition of the Range Rover Evoque.
McGovern, according to the Mail on Sunday, said at a publicity event last week: "She didn't design the car...
"I've forgotten more than that woman will ever know about [car] designing – to be a car designer takes years."
He added: "When we went to China to present it, she stood up in front of the world's press and said, "When I designed the car..." I said, "Victoria, that wasn't on the script."
Also at the Beijing launch in 2012, Mrs Beckham said: "I wanted to design a car that I want to drive and that David would want to drive.
"I wanted a car that reflected my personality.
"I'm really proud of this car"
Hand-finished in matte grey, the SUV has special tanned leather seats and a number of luxury features including a TV, sat-nav and 16-speaker sound system.
The 20-inch black alloys have a rose gold tintings and there is a signed leather wallet containing the owner's manual.
It has a 2-litre turbocharged petrol engine which gives the Evoque a 0-62mph time of 7.1 seconds and top speed of 135mph.
Land Rover has since said: "The three-year project was completed in full by both parties and was a huge creative success around the world.
"Mrs Beckham remains part of the Land Rover family."
